Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Announces Additional Trips

Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) has announced that metro services in Mumbai will be extended during the Navratri Festival. This extension will take place from October 7 to October 11, with 12 extra trips operated daily to accommodate citizens attending midnight festivities.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who also serves as the Chairman of MMRDA, guided this decision. The additional trips will ensure convenient and economical travel for all commuters during the festive period.

Details of the Extended Services

From October 7 to October 11, the total number of daily trips will increase from 282 to 294. These additional trips will be scheduled past 11 pm, running between Andheri West and Gundavali.

Sanjay Mukherjee, Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA, emphasized the importance of enhancing transportation services to meet the increased demand during Navratri. He stated, “Navratri is a festival that brings people together, and it is our responsibility to provide efficient and safe transportation for all devotees and citizens.”

Rubal Aggarwal, Managing Director of MMMOCL, added, “We are committed to meeting the needs of our commuters, and the decision to extend train timings during the Navratri Festival reflects our dedication to enhancing commuter experience.”
