Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 2: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav honored Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, acknowledging his vital role in India’s independence. CM Yadav also remembered Lal Bahadur Shastri, the second Prime Minister of India, on his birth anniversary, highlighting his journey from humble beginnings to great achievements.

CM Yadav stated, “Mahatma Gandhi contributed to the nation for its independence, India will never forget it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going ahead with progress in every sector and every area. Especially, amid the current instability in South Asian countries, PM Modi is spreading the message of peace. This enhances the pride of India and takes forward the tradition of Mahatma Gandhi.”

He added, “Along with Mahatma Gandhi, it is also the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, we remember his contribution to the nation. How can one reach great heights despite coming from difficulties, we can learn this from him. Despite reaching such a great height, he left a mark of simplicity. I bow before both of them. We wish that Madhya Pradesh and the nation move forward on their path.”

CM Yadav also paid tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri by garlanding his statue in Bhopal. He praised Shastri for his simplicity, strong will, and honesty, and remembered his famous slogan ‘Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan’ which inspired the nation.

Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated every year on October 2 to honor Mahatma Gandhi, known as the ‘Father of the Nation’. Born in 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat, Gandhi led the non-violent resistance against British rule, which eventually led to India’s independence in 1947.

Lal Bahadur Shastri, born in 1904 in Uttar Pradesh, served as India’s second Prime Minister from 1964 to 1966. He passed away in Tashkent in 1966, shortly after signing the Tashkent Pact with Pakistan.
