In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the Lokayukta conducted raids on the homes of former RTO constable Saurabh Sharma and his associate Chetan Singh. The raids revealed assets totaling Rs 7.98 crores.
At Saurabh Sharma's residence in Arera Colony, assets worth Rs 3.86 crores were found. This included vehicles and household goods valued at Rs 2.21 crores, gold and diamond jewelry worth Rs 50 lakhs, and Rs 1.15 crores in cash.
Similarly, Chetan Singh's home in the same colony yielded assets worth Rs 4.12 crores, including 234 kg of silver valued at Rs 2.10 crores and Rs 1.72 crores in cash.
Prior to these raids, Bhopal police and Income Tax officials discovered 52 kg of gold worth over Rs 40 crores and Rs 9.86 crores in cash in an abandoned car. The car, registered to Chetan Singh, was found near Mendori-Kushalpur road.
The police and Income Tax Department are continuing their investigation into these findings.
