Maharashtra’s New Scheme to Help Women: Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde Speak Out
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 19: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the women of the state have appreciated the Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana. He stated, “Certainly, our sisters have appreciated this scheme a lot, our sisters have given very good participation in this scheme and the government is behind them sisters, the government will keep empowering them.”
A week after launching the ‘Mukhyamantri Ladki Behna Yojana,’ Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his satisfaction after seeing the happiness on the faces of the beneficiaries. He said, “We stand strong with these Bahini. We want to make them self-reliant.”
The Chief Minister mentioned that he spoke to some of the Bahini (sisters) who plan to use the money for their children’s education, medication, and to grow their small businesses.
The Maharashtra government launched the scheme on August 17 to provide financial assistance to women and make them more independent and self-reliant. The scheme offers Rs 1,500 per month to women aged 21-65 with an annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh. If there are two sisters, they will receive Rs 3,000.
The ‘Mukhyamantri Ladki Behna’ scheme is inspired by Madhya Pradesh’s ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’ and aims to provide long-term financial support to women in need.
