Knife Attack in Shanghai Supermarket: 3 Killed, 15 Injured
A tragic knife attack occurred in a suburban supermarket in Shanghai, China, resulting in three deaths and 15 injuries. The incident took place on Monday in the city’s southwest area.
The suspect, a 37-year-old man with the last name Lin, was quickly apprehended by the local Songjiang police. Preliminary investigations suggest that Lin may have traveled to Shanghai to ‘vent his anger’ over a private financial disagreement.
This attack happened as China was preparing for the ‘Golden Week’ vacation, which coincides with the national day on October 1.
Authorities are still investigating the case, and more details are awaited.
This incident is part of a series of brutal stabbing attacks in major Chinese cities this year. Last month, a 10-year-old Japanese schoolboy was fatally stabbed in Shenzhen. In May, a man killed eight people and injured one in Xiaogan, Hubei province.
