Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara Criticizes BJP Over MUDA Scam Remarks

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their inconsistent remarks on the alleged MUDA scam. During a press conference, he pointed out that the BJP initially said it was wrong to accept the disputed sites, but now they claim it is wrong to return them.

Parameshwara mentioned that Mrs. Siddaramaiah decided to return 14 sites, but BJP leaders are now opposing this decision. He also accused Karnataka Assembly’s Leader of Opposition, R Ashoka, of being involved in scams during the BJP’s tenure, specifically mentioning a scam in Lottegollahalli worth hundreds of crores.

Despite mounting demands from the BJP, Parameshwara confirmed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would not resign and would continue to fight for justice. He also criticized the involvement of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the MUDA land allocation case, questioning the registration of a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) despite the absence of financial transactions.

After the ED booked Siddaramaiah for money laundering related to the MUDA land allotment scam, his wife wrote to the MUDA Commissioner, offering to surrender the 14 plots allotted to her. The Mysuru Lokayukta has initiated an inquiry and investigation into the case following a court order to file an FIR. It is alleged that MUDA illegally allotted 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife in Mysuru city.
