Bengaluru, Karnataka, India – Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has firmly stated that he will not resign amid allegations related to the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam. He emphasized that his case is different from that of former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, who was involved in land denotification.

Siddaramaiah explained that the land in question was a gift to his wife from her brother, and that MUDA had encroached upon it. His wife requested an alternative site, which was allocated to her without specifying Vijayanagara. He believes the situation has been politicized and that allegations of money laundering are irrelevant to his case.

Earlier, Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra claimed that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Home Minister G Parameshwara had taken a clear stand on seeking Siddaramaiah’s resignation. Meanwhile, Karnataka Law Minister HK Patil criticized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for registering a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) against Siddaramaiah, calling it a significant mistake.

On Monday, after the ED booked Siddaramaiah for money laundering, his wife offered to surrender the 14 plots allotted to her by MUDA. The Mysuru Lokayukta has also started an inquiry and investigation into the case following a court order to file an FIR against Siddaramaiah for alleged illegalities in the allotment of 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to his wife.
