Jio has announced a new feature for its JioBharat device called JioSoundPay, aimed at helping 5 crore small-scale merchants across India. This feature provides instant, multilingual audio confirmations for UPI payments, making business operations smoother for small vendors like kirana stores and roadside eateries. Previously, merchants paid Rs 125 monthly for a sound box, but JioSoundPay is now free, saving users Rs 1,500 annually.

The JioBharat phone, launched over a year ago, is the world's most affordable 4G phone, priced at Rs 699. Merchants can recover the phone's cost in just six months with the savings from JioSoundPay.
Celebrating India's Republic
To mark 75 years of India's Republic, Jio offers modern renditions of Vande Mataram on JioSoundPay. Users can set these as their JioTune via the MyJio app or JioSaavn. Sunil Dutt, President of Jio, emphasized the company's commitment to empowering Indians and building a Digital India.
