Jen Psaki Criticizes JD Vance’s Campaign and Authenticity
Washington, DC [US], August 9: Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki criticized Republican US Vice Presidential nominee and Ohio Senator JD Vance for his campaign trail. Psaki said that voters can ‘sniff inauthenticity’ in Vance, calling him ‘not authentic’ during an appearance on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe.’
Vance has faced backlash for various actions during his campaign, including a joke about Diet Mountain Dew and Democrats, and his shift in opinion towards former President Trump, whom he had previously opposed before endorsing and becoming his running mate in the 2024 US Presidential elections.
Psaki stated, ‘He’s not presenting himself as who he was for many decades before he had this kind of about-face … in order to try to connect with the MAGA world. People sniff that, they recognize it. Voters are not dumb, they’re smart.’
JD Vance, who was critical of Trump before accepting his nomination as the US Vice Presidential nominee, tried to confront Vice President Kamala Harris on the tarmac in Wisconsin. Vance approached reporters and commented on Harris not responding to questions from reporters.
Meanwhile, Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, posed for pictures with Girl Scouts Troop #3307 before Vance spoke to reporters. Harris’ campaign shared a video mocking Vance’s plane landing, to which Trump-Vance campaign spokesman Steven Cheung responded with a comment about cleaning Air Force Two.
Harris secured her party’s nomination for president with overwhelming support from delegates after President Joe Biden quit the race. Trump is aiming for a comeback to the White House after his exit in 2020.
