Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has announced that the new Athlete Monitoring System (AMS) will be available to all state associations at no cost. This system was developed at the newly inaugurated Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.

Benefits of the AMS

The AMS aims to standardize player monitoring and enhance performance. It includes:

  • Dashboard view with health and fitness protocols
  • Better injury recording and surveillance
  • Injury and fitness analytics
  • Ease of scheduling rehab and fitness activities
  • Performance alerts to coaches and administrators
  • Media sharing via the app
  • Real-time workload management alerts
  • Fitness testing and evaluation functionalities

New National Cricket Academy

The BCCI also inaugurated the new National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, which spans over 40 acres. This facility is designed to nurture cricketing talent and advance sports science in India. It features three world-class cricket grounds and 86 pitches, including both indoor and outdoor areas. Ground A, the main ground, has an 85-yard boundary with 13 Mumbai red soil pitches and advanced floodlighting and broadcasting facilities. Grounds B and C serve as practice grounds with 75-yard boundaries, featuring 11 Mandya soil pitches and 9 black cotton soil pitches from Kalahandi, Odisha.
