Israel President Isaac Herzog Praises US and President Biden at American Independence Day Reception
President Isaac Herzog of Israel spoke at the American Independence Day Reception held at the Ambassador’s Residence in Jerusalem. He highlighted the strong alliance between Israel and the United States, emphasizing their shared values and mutual defense against terror and extremism.
Herzog praised President Joe Biden for his support following the October 7 massacre, stating, “From the very first moments, President Biden’s stance has been unequivocal. He stepped forward and showed with one powerful word, that in the face of the darkest expressions of human cruelty, the United States of America was there.”
Herzog also expressed his gratitude to the American government, Congress, and the American people for their unwavering support, especially during attacks from Iran. He noted that the American military joined hands with the IDF to successfully foil a missile and drone attack on Israel’s civilian population.
In his speech, Herzog acknowledged that while there may be disagreements between the two nations, these do not undermine the strong friendship and alliance that advance the vital interests of both countries.
