Iranian Ambassador Iraj Elahi Highlights Chabahar Port and Iran-India Ties

In New Delhi, Iranian Ambassador Iraj Elahi described Chabahar Port as the "golden gateway" for regional connectivity, emphasizing its importance in strengthening ties between India and Iran. He noted the long-term operational agreement and the International North-South Transport Corridor as key examples of their partnership.

Elahi was speaking at an event celebrating the 46th anniversary of the Victory of the Islamic Revolution. He highlighted the historical friendship between Iran and India, mentioning the Persian language as a cultural link. He also discussed cooperation on regional and global issues through platforms like SCO and BRICS, and a positive meeting between President Pezeshkian and Prime Minister Modi at the BRICS summit.

Reflecting on the Islamic Revolution, Elahi acknowledged challenges but highlighted progress in health, education, science, and technology. He noted Iran's leadership in nanotechnology and biotechnology, and the increasing participation of women in education and government roles.

Elahi emphasized Iran's advancements in science and technology, with nearly 10,000 knowledge-based companies and achievements in space technology. He reiterated Iran's commitment to national interests, regional peace, and support for Palestine. On Iran's nuclear program, he stated it is peaceful and follows international rules, criticizing the United States for leaving the JCPOA.
