Iran Launches Missile Attack on Israel Amid Rising Tensions
Tel Aviv, Israel – In a major escalation in the Middle East conflict, Iran launched a missile attack on Israel on Tuesday. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that all Israeli civilians are in bomb shelters as rockets from Iran are fired at Israel. Hezbollah, upset that the IDF exposed their plans to attack Israelis, decided to target innocent civilians by firing a barrage of rockets.
According to the Jerusalem Post, 102 missiles have been launched towards Israel. Sirens continue to sound across Israel amid the attack, as reported by the Times of Israel. The IDF stated that around 10 million civilians are the targets of Iranian projectiles. Iran’s state media has also confirmed the attack, with Press TV reporting that over 400 missiles have been launched towards Israel.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris convened a meeting with their national security team to discuss Iranian plans for an imminent attack. Biden stated on X that the United States is prepared to help Israel defend against these attacks and protect American personnel in the region.
In response, the IDF began limited, localized, and targeted ground raids against Hezbollah terrorist targets and infrastructure in southern Lebanon. These operations, named Operation “Northern Arrows,” are supported by the Israeli Air Force and IDF Artillery and were approved by the political echelon.
This escalation follows Israel’s recent airstrike that killed Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, and the earlier killing of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Iran had vowed to take revenge for both incidents.
Additionally, a terror attack in Jaffa resulted in four deaths and seven injuries. The two terrorists involved were neutralized by the police. The incident took place near a light rail train station, and surveillance images showed the terrorists opening fire.
