India to Host ISSF Junior World Cup 2025

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has been granted the opportunity to host the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Cup for Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun in 2025. This marks the third major ISSF event in India, following the senior world cup in Bhopal in 2023 and the ISSF World Cup Final earlier this year.

Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, President of NRAI, expressed excitement upon receiving the official confirmation from ISSF. He highlighted the positive feedback from the ISSF executive committee meeting in Rome, where India's efforts in hosting international shooting competitions were praised. He also acknowledged the support from the Government of India and the Ministry of Sports.

Event Planning

K Sultan Singh, Secretary General of NRAI, shared that the ISSF has requested two potential time slots for the event: September-October and late October-early November. The NRAI will finalize these dates soon to allow member federations to prepare. The event is expected to attract top future champions and stars of shooting, providing a significant boost to the sport in India.

Upcoming Competitions

This will be the ninth major shooting championship in India over the past decade and the first ISSF Junior World Cup. India has previously hosted continental championships and six ISSF competitions, including two World Cup Finals and four senior World Cups. Additionally, the first-ever Shooting League of India is planned for the first half of 2025, alongside regular national competitions.
