St John’s, Antigua, June 22: India moved closer to the semifinals of the ICC T20 World Cup by defeating Bangladesh by 50 runs in a thrilling match. Hardik Pandya’s all-round performance and Kuldeep Yadav’s impressive bowling were the highlights of the game.

India’s Batting Performance

India batted first and scored 196/5 in 20 overs. Hardik Pandya was the star with an unbeaten 50 runs off 27 balls, including four fours and three sixes. Virat Kohli contributed 37 runs, while Rishabh Pant added 36 runs. Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rishad Hossain took two wickets each for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh’s Run Chase

Chasing 197 runs, Bangladesh started well with Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das. However, Hardik Pandya dismissed Litton for 13 runs. Kuldeep Yadav then took three crucial wickets, including the key dismissals of Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shakib al Hasan. Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh also bowled effectively, taking two wickets each. Bangladesh ended their innings at 146/8 in 20 overs.
