Introduction
During the National Level Sharad Utsav in Manali, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced developmental projects worth Rs 206.08 crore for the Kullu district.
Project Details
The Chief Minister inaugurated eight projects totaling Rs 59.21 crore and laid the foundation for 13 projects valued at Rs 147.59 crore. These projects aim to restore and reconstruct areas affected by last year's Beas River floods.
Road and Bridge Projects
Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase III, several road upgrades were inaugurated, including:
- Manali-Burwa road: Rs 7.34 crore
- Chhaki to Hallan road: Rs 7.70 crore
- Patlikuhal to Hallan-2 road: Rs 9.24 crore
- Fozal to Neri road: Rs 6.69 crore
A double-lane bridge at Solang Nala was also inaugurated, costing Rs 3.71 crore.
Infrastructure and Health Projects
An inter-state bus station at Patlikuhal was constructed for Rs 7.69 crore, and the first phase of the Manali bus parking yard was completed for Rs 14.30 crore. A Primary Health Centre at Thatibeer in Banjar tehsil was inaugurated, costing Rs 2.53 crore.
Flood Protection and Other Initiatives
Flood protection work on the right bank of the Beas River was initiated at various locations, with costs ranging from Rs 8.34 crore to Rs 8.97 crore. The foundation stone for a wellness centre in Manali was laid, costing Rs 46.25 crore, along with the conservation of Naggar Castle for Rs 11.57 crore.
