The "Gulf Bridges - the Gulf Youth Leadership Programme" recently wrapped up its first edition in Sharjah, UAE. Organized by Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, the event was held under the patronage of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation. The programme saw the participation of 40 young men and women from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Participants visited a wheat farm in the Mleiha area to learn about Sharjah's development projects aimed at achieving food security and supporting sustainable agriculture. Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, shared insights on the challenges and solutions in food security projects. He highlighted Sharjah's pioneering wheat hybridisation programme and the use of artificial intelligence in agriculture.
Dr. Al Tunaiji also discussed the Mleiha Dairy Farm, known for its organic milk, and the innovative "Fly" broiler farms. These initiatives showcase Sharjah's rich natural resources and commitment to sustainable practices.
The programme included field visits and workshops, enhancing the participants' experience. Dr. Hanaa Namankani led a workshop on self-awareness, while Ashwaq Ahmed Bouali conducted a session on personal skills and team building at Sharjah Safari.
