Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Launches Online Portal for Auctioning Gifts to Support Girl Education

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], October 1: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has introduced an e-portal for the online sale of gifts received by the CM. The income generated will be used for noble causes like girl education. This initiative supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India campaign.

Previously, gifts were sold through public auctions at state-level gatherings and by District Collectors. Now, the State Government has launched an online portal to collect contributions for the Girl Child Education Fund through transparent online sales.

CM Mementos is an Open Auction portal by the Government of Gujarat, enabling buyers to participate in online auctions after registration. People from any part of the country can buy Toshakhana’s gifts online through e-auction.

PM Modi, as the former Chief Minister of Gujarat, started this tradition by depositing gifts in the Government Toshakhana and using the proceeds for girl education. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel continues this tradition, viewing himself as a trustee of these gifts.

The e-auction portal, developed by NCode GNFC, categorizes items with photographs and descriptions in English and Gujarati. Buyers must register on the portal, submit bids, and make digital payments to the Girl Child Education Fund. The highest bidder will receive the purchased item by post.

The launch event was attended by Chief Secretary Rajkumar, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Pankaj Joshi, M K Das, Principal Secretary of Finance Department Natarajan, Aarti Kanwar, Secretary to Chief Minister Avantika Singh, and other senior officers.
