Agartala (Tripura) [India], June 26: Four Bangladeshi women and one Indian citizen were arrested at Agartala railway station shortly before they were about to board trains to Ahmedabad and Pune.

Who Were Arrested?

The arrested individuals are:

  • Meem Sultana (23)
  • Rubaiya Sultana alias Asha (20)
  • Ritu Begam (28)
  • Jyoti Khatun (20)
  • Kashem Miah (24), a resident of Sepahijala, Tripura

Details of the Arrest

The Government Railway Police (GRP) at Agartala station made the arrests. The Bangladeshi women had reportedly entered India illegally. Some intended to travel to Ahmedabad, while others planned to go to Pune by train. Kashem Miah is believed to have facilitated their illegal entry and travel within India.
