In the early hours of Tuesday morning, the Israel Police and fire and rescue services rushed to the historic Ein Kerem neighborhood in Jerusalem. A major water pipe rupture caused flooding, trapping people in their homes. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

The flooding caused significant damage to several homes, with one declared a ‘dangerous structure.’ Vehicles were also damaged, some even overturned, and the local infrastructure and roads were affected. The road leading to Ein Kerem was temporarily closed but has since reopened.

Ein Kerem is a charming neighborhood on a hillside, known for its historical sites like the Church of St. John the Baptist and Mary’s Spring. Visitors can explore narrow streets lined with galleries, shops, and cafes.
