Jabbar's Travels and Preparations
According to the FBI, Jabbar stayed in a rental home in New Orleans starting October 30, 2024, and recorded videos using Meta glasses, which look like regular glasses but can record photos and videos hands-free. He was wearing these glasses during the attack on Bourbon Street, although he did not live stream the event.
Details of the Attack
On January 2, US President Joe Biden revealed that Jabbar had a remote detonator in his vehicle to trigger Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) placed in ice coolers in the French Quarter. The FBI recovered these IEDs, confirming Jabbar's involvement. The attack resulted in 15 deaths, including Jabbar's.
ISIS Connection
The FBI identified Jabbar as an ISIS supporter, finding an ISIS flag in his vehicle and videos online where he expressed his support. This act of terrorism has been linked to his extremist beliefs.
