The Election Commission of India (ECI) has expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Paramilitary forces, Indian Air Force, and Railways for their significant contributions to the peaceful conduct of the 2024 elections. The ECI praised their efforts in ensuring seamless Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024

The Lok Sabha elections took place from April 19 to June 1, 2024, across seven phases. The results were announced on June 4, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning 240 seats, a decrease from their 2019 tally of 303. The Congress party showed growth, securing 99 seats compared to 52 in 2019.

Assembly Elections in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir

Haryana held its assembly elections on October 5, while Jammu and Kashmir conducted theirs in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1. The BJP won 48 seats in Haryana, forming its third consecutive government. In Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference-Congress alliance won 48 seats, with the National Conference securing 42 of those. The BJP won 29 seats, while other parties and independents shared the remaining seats.
