The Eastern Railway has made extensive arrangements to ensure smooth travel for passengers during the festive season of Chhath and Diwali. Chief Public Relations Officer Kaushik Mitra stated that Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has directed railway authorities to make proper arrangements for people from West Bengal celebrating Chhath with their families.
Three special trains with general coaches have been started from Asansol to Patna. Additionally, many trains are running from Sealdah to Darbhanga, Malda, and Anand Vihar. The Indian Railways has launched 164 special trains to ensure timely travel during the festive season.
According to Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of the Railway Board's Information and Publicity, these trains will travel from various locations across the country, including Secundrabad, Ahmedabad, and New Delhi, to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The Indian Railway plans to make an additional 7,000 trips nationwide.
To prevent inconvenience, teams of officers and Railway Police Force have been deployed at stations. Additional seating and resting areas have been arranged at stations expecting overcrowding, ensuring a smooth journey for passengers.
