Devendra Fadnavis Clarifies BJP’s Stand on Nawab Malik and Mahayuti Alliance

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader, Devendra Fadnavis, has reaffirmed the party’s position regarding Nawab Malik’s involvement in the government if the Mahayuti alliance wins the upcoming assembly elections. Fadnavis stated, “When we have said that we are not even campaigning for Nawab Malik, speculating about whether he would be part of the government or not is baseless.”

The BJP, in alliance with Ajit Pawar-led NCP and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, opposes Nawab Malik’s nomination from Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar. Fadnavis mentioned that the alliance partners are addressing issues of cross nominations and rebel candidates filing as independents, with efforts to convince them to withdraw their nominations.

Fadnavis assured that Gopal Shetty, a senior BJP leader, will align with the party despite filing as an independent candidate from Borivali. Shetty, a former MP, announced his independent candidacy on social media, supported by many followers.

Additionally, Fadnavis expressed the party’s intention to support Raj Thackeray’s son, Amit Thackeray, in the Mahim Assembly constituency against Shiv Sena’s candidate Sada Sarvankar.
