New Delhi [India], July 9: In a significant move to improve service conditions and end temporary employment in government jobs, Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has approved the conversion of 112 temporary medical and non-medical posts at Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital, Pitampura, into permanent positions.
These positions include Specialists, Senior Resident Doctors, Junior Resident Doctors, Staff Nurses, Pharmacists, Lab Technicians, Lab Assistants, Statistical Assistants, and Lower Division Clerks (LDC). The conversion aims to enhance the hospital's services.
LG Saxena has directed that these posts be filled through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) as per recruitment rules, in a timely manner.
Since taking office in May 2022, LG Saxena has issued strict directives to resolve pending issues related to government employees' welfare, including promotions, service matters, cadre restructuring, and direct recruitments. Recently, 48 Accounts Officers were promoted to Senior Accounts Officers in the Finance Department, and 411 Vice-Principals were promoted to Principals in the Education Department.
Additionally, Saxena approved the restructuring of the Delhi Subordinate Services (DSS) cadre, previously known as the Delhi Administration Subordinate Services (DASS) cadre, ending decades of temporary employment. Over the past two years, 25,000 posts, including teachers, junior assistants, wardens, and medical staff, have been filled in various government departments.
