Trump imposed a 10% additional tariff on Chinese imports to hold China accountable for its promises to curb illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

Trump's administration aims to use these measures to negotiate a significant economic agreement with China. During his first term, Trump established the President's Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis, declaring it a public health emergency.
