The incident occurred 43 nautical miles east of Kathmandu, prompting the pilot to declare a full emergency. The plane safely returned to Kathmandu, landing at 11:15 am local time using a VOR approach from the Gurans point.
Following the emergency landing, the aircraft is undergoing a technical inspection. Buddha Air has arranged for a separate aircraft to transport the passengers to their intended destination.
During the incident, Tribhuvan International Airport was temporarily closed but has since resumed normal operations, according to a spokesperson.
