BSF and Punjab Police Seize Heroin Dropped by Drone in Tarn Taran
In Tarn Taran, Punjab, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police successfully seized three packets of heroin weighing over 1.8 kg. The operation took place near Wan village on a Wednesday. The narcotics were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and had an improvised copper wire loop, indicating they were dropped by a drone.
The operation was initiated after receiving specific information about suspicious activity in the border area. Despite the successful recovery, the suspected individuals managed to escape before the troops arrived.
Earlier, on September 29, the BSF recovered a China-made DJI Mavic 3 classic drone in Tarn Taran. This discovery was made after a combine harvester operator reported seeing a drone in a farming field. The BSF conducted a thorough search and found the drone near village-CB Chand.
The coordinated efforts of the BSF and Punjab Police have led to significant recoveries, highlighting the ongoing issue of narcotics being smuggled across the border using drones.
