BSF and Anti-Human Trafficking Team Catch 10 Bangladeshi Nationals with Fake Aadhaar Cards in Tripura
In Agartala, Tripura, the Border Security Force (BSF), anti-human trafficking team, and intelligence unit apprehended 10 Bangladeshi nationals trying to hide their identities using fake Aadhaar cards on Tuesday.
Details of the Operation
The search operation was part of a special drive to catch Bangladeshi nationals. Based on specific information, small teams conducted searches at suspected dropping points in Amtali and Dukli in West Tripura.
At around 5:15 AM, the BSF team, along with other agencies, apprehended 4 female Bangladeshi nationals, including one baby. Later, at about 8:00 AM, the joint team caught 6 more Bangladeshi nationals and one suspected Indian tout.
Initially, the apprehended individuals denied being Bangladeshi nationals and produced fake Aadhaar cards. However, during preliminary questioning, they admitted to being from Bangladesh. Further questioning is ongoing by BSF and GRP.
Additional Arrests
Meanwhile, 16 Bangladeshi nationals, including 13 men and 3 women, were apprehended at Agartala Railway Station on Tuesday evening. Among them, three were identified as Bangladeshi touts involved in illegal activities. Local authorities detained the individuals, and a case has been registered at the Agartala Government Railway Police Station (GRPS) under various sections of the law.
