Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 3: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader R S Praveen Kumar has condemned the attack on the party’s working president, KT Rama Rao, accusing the Congress party of diverting attention from real issues in Telangana.

Attack on KT Rama Rao

On Tuesday, KT Rama Rao’s convoy was allegedly attacked by Congress workers while he was on his way to meet people affected by the Musi River Rejuvenation Project. The project has been criticized by KTR, who stated that it would make 1 lakh people homeless due to demolitions.

Condemnation and Accusations

R S Praveen Kumar accused the Congress of fostering a criminal culture and claimed that the police had prior information about the attackers but did nothing to prevent the incident. He also accused CM Revanth Reddy, who is also the Home Minister, of orchestrating the attack.

KTR’s Response

KT Rama Rao posted on social media, stating that the attack would not deter him from standing with the people and challenging what he called the ‘Goondaraj’ (rule of thugs). He emphasized that the attack had only strengthened his resolve.

Call for Judicial Inquiry

R S Praveen Kumar called for a judicial inquiry into the attack, claiming that KTR has been exposing various scams in the state, which has led to these diversion tactics by Revanth Reddy.

Musi River Project Controversy

Kumar criticized the Congress for not fulfilling their promises and instead creating a powerful entity under the guise of the Musi River beautification project. He accused the Congress of destroying lives and using baseless allegations against BRS leadership.

Government’s Stance

CM Revanth Reddy announced plans to develop historic buildings along the Musi River into tourist spots and reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting tourism and welfare in Telangana.
