In New Delhi, BJP candidate Pravesh Verma has lodged a complaint against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of breaking the model code of conduct (MCC) in the New Delhi assembly constituency. Verma claims that Kejriwal, the former Delhi chief minister, is distributing chairs using funds from Punjab, which he believes is a violation of the MCC.
Verma, who is running against Kejriwal, stated, "The 'accused' Arvind Kejriwal, who was MLA from here and also the CM, didn't do any work. But, when MCC is in effect, the way he has started distributing chairs using the money from Punjab, I have filed a complaint to the Election Commission and I hope they will take appropriate action."
The Model Code of Conduct came into effect in Delhi on January 8, following the announcement of assembly poll dates. The Congress has fielded Sandeep Dikshit for the same seat.
