Jamal Siddiqui, the national president of BJP's Minority Morcha, has reiterated that 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' (development and trust for all) is the essence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He compared this principle to a soul, stating that the BJP is nothing without it.
Addressing comments made by West Bengal BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari, Siddiqui explained that Adhikari's statement, "Jo humare saath, hum unke saath," was made impulsively and was misrepresented. He noted that Adhikari, who joined the BJP from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), is still adapting to the BJP's inclusive approach.
Siddiqui emphasized that the BJP was formed to fulfill the dreams of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and his ideology of 'Antyodaya' (uplifting the last person in the queue). He highlighted that the BJP's goal is to bring a smile to the face of the most oppressed and deprived individuals in society.
He further added that in the last 10 years, the biggest beneficiaries of the central schemes have been Muslims. Siddiqui criticized the INDIA bloc for misleading minorities and stressed the importance of embracing and serving everyone, regardless of their political affiliations.
Earlier, Shubhendu Adhikari had suggested that the BJP should prioritize those who support them, but later clarified that his remarks were personal and did not reflect the party's stance. He acknowledged that 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' is a slogan given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and remains unchanged.
The 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' slogan was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014 to promote inclusive and holistic development for all Indians, irrespective of caste and religion.
