BJP Launches ‘Har Ghar Bhajapa Campaign’ for Jammu and Kashmir Elections

New Delhi, India – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is intensifying its campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Starting from September 10, the party will launch the ‘Har Ghar Bhajapa Campaign’ to connect with people and inform them about the party’s programs and achievements.

The campaign will be led by various prominent leaders:

  • Ram Madhav in Kathua and Hiranagar
  • Trilok Jamwal and Gulam Ali Khatna in Bhaderwah, Ramban, and Banihal
  • Dhan Singh Rawat in Udhampur West and East
  • Jitendra Singh in Chenani, Billawar, Basohli, and Jasrota
  • Shamsher Singh Manhas in Ramnagar
  • Ashwani Sharma in Bani
  • Jugal Kishore Sharma in Gulabgarh, Reasi, and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi
  • Sat Sharma in Ramgarh and Samba

Security Measures

Security has been increased in the Rajouri region to ensure a safe environment for voters. The Jammu and Kashmir police, army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are conducting regular patrols, day domination campaigns, and road marches. Senior Superintendent of Police Randeep Kumar stated that these measures are in place to ensure voters can cast their votes without fear.

Election Details

The Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections will be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with counting on October 8. There are 90 assembly constituencies, with 7 seats reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and 9 for Scheduled Tribes (STs). These are the first elections after the abrogation of Article 370.

In the previous elections, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won 28 seats, the BJP secured 25, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) won 15, and the Congress won 12.

Abrogation of Article 370 -: Article 370 was a special law that gave Jammu and Kashmir more autonomy. It was removed in 2019, changing the region’s status.
