Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 24: Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief VD Sharma criticized veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh for questioning bulldozer actions against illegal constructions. Singh, in a post on X, expressed his opposition to the 'bulldozer culture' and questioned the motives behind the demolition of a house in Chhatarpur.
Sharma responded by accusing Singh of engaging in appeasement politics. He stated, "If someone does hooliganism, breaks the law, or spreads terror, will Digvijay Singh support them? He only does politics. Deep down he also feels good that the right thing was done. But he says all this just to do politics of appeasement."
Illegal constructions belonging to the key accused in a stone-pelting incident at a police station in Chhatarpur on August 21 were demolished the next day by the district administration and police.
Sharma also spoke about the upcoming Regional Industries Conclave in Gwalior on August 28. He praised the initiative under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's leadership, aimed at identifying industrial opportunities and creating employment in the region. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Vocal for Local' initiative as a positive step for local industry development.
