In a significant move, the ICC, under Shah's chairmanship, resolved the hosting rights issue for the Champions Trophy 2025, deciding it will be held in Pakistan and another neutral venue. A hybrid model for ICC events from 2024 to 2027 was also approved, allowing matches between India and Pakistan to be played at neutral venues. This decision affects the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025, ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, and ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
Meanwhile, Ashish Shelar, the former BCCI treasurer, has been elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in Maharashtra, representing the Mahayuti alliance.
