On Tuesday, Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika, along with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, held a massive protest rally in Jagiroad, Assam. They demanded an apology from Congress leader and Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge for his remarks on Assam's semiconductor project.
Hazarika expressed his disappointment with Kharge's tweets, which questioned why Assam had a semiconductor project instead of Karnataka. Hazarika stated, "I am an Indian and a nationalist. Karnataka should get development, but why should Assam not get it? We demand an apology from Priyank Kharge and the Congress party. Congress does not want the development of states."
In a post on X, Hazarika wrote, "Today I joined the people of Jagiroad and my fellow BJP colleagues to protest against the Congress party and their opposition to Assam's biggest ever private investment. Congress is anti-Assam and cannot digest the state's development."
