Assam Minister Ashok Singhal organized an Investors' Roadshow in Bengaluru as a precursor to the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit, scheduled for February 25-26, 2025, in Guwahati. The event aimed to showcase Assam's economic potential to over 200 investors and industry leaders.
Minister Singhal highlighted Assam's strategic location as India's gateway to South and Southeast Asia, emphasizing its robust economic growth from USD 29 billion in 2013-14 to USD 68.7 billion in 2023-24, with projections to reach USD 85.8 billion. He outlined Assam's vision for growth through investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, renewable energy, and human resource development.
Several significant projects were highlighted, including India's first International Multi-Modal Logistics Park in Jogighopa, the Dhubri-Phulbari bridge, Tata OSAT's semiconductor project, and elevated corridors in Kaziranga National Park. Assam's policies in green energy and emerging technologies, such as Green Hydrogen and Electronics System Design and Manufacturing, were also emphasized.
Minister Singhal presented sectors like aerospace, defense, food processing, and IT as key investment areas, along with sustainable tourism supported by Assam's natural heritage. He invited investors to explore Assam's opportunities, promising government support and a collaborative business environment.
The Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit will feature a grand Jhumoir dance performance with over 8,000 youth and will be attended by the Prime Minister of India, Union Ministers, and industry leaders. Minister Singhal concluded by inviting collaboration to unlock Assam's potential and foster prosperity and innovation.
During a Q&A session, Minister Singhal addressed investor queries about Assam's investment policies, fostering confidence among attendees. Prefixed B2G meetings followed, with business leaders expressing interest in Assam's investment opportunities and confirming participation in the upcoming summit.
