Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's Visit to Japan
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is on a visit to Japan to strengthen ties and invite investment into Assam. He met with Fukushiro Nukaga, Speaker of Japan's House of Representatives, to discuss sports tourism development. CM Sarma paid tribute to freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at the Indian Embassy, honoring his legacy.
Meetings with Japanese Officials
CM Sarma met with Komura Masahiro, Japan's State Minister of Justice, and Furukawa Yasushi, Japan's State Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, to discuss tourism and a Japanese industrial estate in Assam. He also met with Lekh Raj Juneja, CEO of Kameda Seika, to promote Assam's food processing sector.
Visits to Hiroshima and Osaka
In Hiroshima, CM Sarma paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Hiroshima bomb victims. He visited the Micron Memory Plant and invited them to Assam's Electronic City. In Osaka, he promoted Advantage Assam 2.0 to over 80 business leaders, highlighting Assam's economic growth and investment opportunities.
Engagements with Business Leaders
CM Sarma met with Pravin Chaudhuri of Kansai Paints and Yusuke Kakimoto of Enrission India Capital to explore opportunities in Assam's market and startup ecosystem. He invited them to the Advantage Assam Summit.
