Anurag Thakur Criticizes Congress Ahead of Haryana Elections

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Anurag Thakur has strongly criticized the Congress party ahead of the Haryana elections. Speaking in Karnal, Haryana, Thakur accused Congress of planning to loot the state if they come to power. He claimed that Congress would set up a corrupt government, filling their own and their relatives’ pockets.

Thakur pointed out that Congress had made many promises in Himachal Pradesh but failed to fulfill them. He mentioned that forms filled by people were found discarded, and promises like providing Rs 1500 to women, 300 units of electricity, and free water were not kept. He also criticized Congress for increasing the prices of petrol and diesel and failing to pay pensions and salaries on time.

Thakur further alleged that Congress neglected the needs of soldiers, leading to their deaths. He claimed that Congress did not provide bulletproof jackets, fighter jets, or modern weapons to the Army. In contrast, he highlighted BJP’s efforts in providing One Rank One Pension, bulletproof jackets, and strengthening the forces through the Agnipath scheme.

Additionally, Thakur accused former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda of snatching away farmers’ lands and being involved in scandals. He also mentioned investigations by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Karnataka and against Hooda.

Haryana will go to the polls on October 5 to elect its 90-member state legislative assembly, with the counting of votes set to take place on October 8. In the 2019 elections, BJP emerged as the single largest party, securing 40 seats, while Congress won 30 seats.
