Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu Inspects Port Works and Launches Skill Census

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu inspected port works in the Machilipatnam area of Krishna district. He criticized the previous YSRCP government led by Jagan Mohan Reddy for inefficiency during a recent cyclone, which caused heavy floods in Budameru and endangered Vijayawada city.

Naidu announced that the state government has developed a system to catch criminals quickly, with CCTV cameras being installed where necessary. He emphasized that Bundar Port will greatly benefit the local people and projected that by 2047, the state will become ‘Swarna Andhra Pradesh,’ with widespread use of solar power.

Earlier, Naidu launched India’s first-ever skill census pilot project in the Mangalagiri constituency. The project aims to assess skill levels through a door-to-door survey of 1,61,421 families, including 1,35,914 households in Mangalagiri and 25,507 households in Thullur. The survey is conducted by 675 enumerators from various departments under the supervision of the Skill Development Headquarters.

The primary goal of the Skill Census project is to identify youth skills and improve employment opportunities. The government aims to create 2 million jobs in both public and private sectors over five years. Plans include linking industries with polytechnic colleges, creating job opportunities in ITI colleges, and holding monthly job fairs in each district. The Skill Census will gather data on unemployment, skills, age, and preferred job locations to enhance employment prospects.
