Abductions in Balochistan: Abdul Rehman and Uzair Baloch Taken by Security Forces

The human rights department of the Baloch National Movement, known as Paank, has condemned the recent abduction of Abdul Rehman and Uzair Baloch by Pakistan security forces in the Kech district of Balochistan. The incident occurred on November 18, 2024, in the Patani Zamran area, Buleda tehsil. Locals have accused the government of failing to ensure the victims' return despite assurances.

Paank expressed deep concern over these enforced disappearances and urged authorities to secure the safe return of the abducted individuals. The Balochistan Post reported that Uzair Umeed's sons, Nazir and Anif, were previously abducted and tortured by security forces before being released. Families of the victims have called on human rights organizations and authorities for immediate action.

The issue of enforced disappearances is escalating, with over 35 cases reported this month alone. Paank has documented more than 110 disappearances and six extrajudicial killings in the past month across Balochistan, Karachi, and other regions. Other recent abductions include Amir Baloch and Hakeem Baloch from the Kech district.

Paank has also condemned the detention of Rashid Bangulzai and Farid Baloch, urging authorities to investigate these abuses and ensure justice. The ongoing harassment of vulnerable individuals, including vehicle confiscations, must cease immediately.
