A 22-year-old woman was rescued after a multi-storey building collapsed in Mohali, Punjab. The rescue operation, which lasted nearly two hours, was conducted by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), police, and fire department teams. The woman has been sent to the hospital for further treatment.
NDRF official Baljit Singh stated, "Rescue operation is ongoing for nearly one to two hours. One victim has been recovered. She is a female. She might be around 22 years old." He added that the operation might continue for a long time as the situation is still unclear.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohali, Deepak Pareek, mentioned that the operation is still underway and the number of people trapped is unknown. Aam Admi Party (AAP) MP Malwinder Singh Kang visited the site and confirmed that the district administration is actively involved in the rescue efforts. He emphasized the priority is to save lives and prevent any loss of life.
