Zimbabwe has revealed their cricket squads for the upcoming home series against Ireland, which includes a one-off Test, three One Day Internationals (ODIs), and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). The series will take place in February 2025.
The Test squad features two new players: 27-year-old leg-spinner Vincent Masekesa and 26-year-old batter Nicholas Welch. Welch, who debuted in T20I against Namibia in October 2023, will now play in the Test format. Tadiwanashe Marumani and Dion Myers have been left out of the Test squad. Sean Williams, an experienced all-rounder, is confirmed to play after recovering from a back issue.
In the ODI squad, Nyasha Mayavo and Wessly Madhevere have replaced Dion Myers and Joylord Gumbie. Dion Myers, however, remains in the T20I squad.
The T20I squad has seen Faraz Akram and Takudzwanashe Kaitano omitted. The series will start with a Test match on February 6th at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo, followed by ODIs on February 14th, 16th, and 18th, and T20Is on February 22nd, 23rd, and 25th.
