Yogi Adityanath Celebrates Guru Purnima at Gorakhnath Temple
On July 21, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is also the Gorakshpeethadhiswar, performed special rituals at the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur. He honored his Gurudev, the late Mahant Avedyanath, and other Nath sect gurus, expressing gratitude for their guidance.
Yogi Adityanath performed a Rudrabhishek dedicated to the Gurus and prayed to Devadhidev Mahadev for public welfare. He also fed jaggery to the cows as part of the service.
The Guru Purnima rituals began early in the morning and concluded with a collective aarti. Yogi Adityanath extended heartfelt Guru Purnima wishes to all countrymen.
During the rituals, Yogi Adityanath visited the court of Adiguru Bhagwan Gorakhnath, performed worship amidst Vedic chants, and paid respects at the Samadhi of Baba Gambhirnath, the late Mahant Digvijaynath, and his Gurudev, the late Mahant Avedyanath.
The temple’s head priest, Yogi Kamalnath, offered Mahaprasad of roti to Guru Gorakhnath. The traditional collective Maha Aarti was performed, expressing faith and reverence for all the gurus.
On this special occasion, Nath Yogis, including Yogi Kamalnath and Mahant Yogi Mithileshnath of Devipatan Shaktipeeth, applied tilak to Yogi Adityanath and received his blessings.
Yogi Adityanath also performed Rudrabhishek of Lord Bholenath in the Shaktipeeth of Gorakhnath Temple, praying for the welfare of all beings. He visited the temple’s cowshed, fed the cows with jaggery, and interacted with children, distributing chocolates and inquiring about their parents’ well-being.
