Woman Gives Birth on TGSRTC Bus in Hyderabad with Help from Conductor and Passengers

A woman named Shweta Ratnam gave birth to a baby girl on a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus on Friday morning. The bus conductor, R Saroja, and fellow women passengers helped her during the delivery.

Shweta experienced intense labor pains while traveling on a 1Z RTC bus from the Musheerabad Depot. She boarded the bus at Aramghar, but the situation escalated as the bus reached Bahadurpura. The TGSRTC Managing Director, VC Sajjanar, mentioned that the conductor and other women passengers assisted Shweta in delivering the baby. The mother and newborn were then taken to a nearby Government Maternity hospital for further medical treatment.

VC Sajjanar appreciated the conductor and the women passengers for their timely help and humanitarian gesture.

Earlier, a similar incident occurred in Kerala where a 37-year-old woman from Malappuram district gave birth to a baby girl on a KSRTC bus in Thrissur. The woman, traveling with her husband, began experiencing severe labor pains as the bus crossed Peramangalam village. The bus driver altered the route and headed directly to Amala Hospital in Thrissur, notifying the hospital about the emergency. Upon reaching the hospital, the woman was in an advanced stage of labor. Passengers were deboarded to allow doctors and nurses to provide immediate medical attention. The medical team brought essential equipment onto the bus to ensure a safe delivery. Dr. Yasir Sulaiman of Amala Hospital stated that both the mother and baby were safe and doing well.
