West Zone and SAI Shakti Shine in Hockey India Sub Junior Inter-Zone Championship 2024

In the 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Women Inter-Zone Championship 2024, which began in Narwana, Haryana, West Zone defeated Academy 5-0 in a Pool B match. Captain Tanvi scored two early goals, and Sidar Madhu added three more in the second half.

In another match, SAI Shakti won against South Zone 9-1. Goals were scored by Sonkar Payal, Munda Bahamani, Aradhana Rajbhar, Shyamlee Ray, Lakra Namrata, and Harshita. Greeshma Ponnappa P scored the lone goal for South Zone.

Meanwhile, in the men’s championship held in Ranchi, Jharkhand, North Zone beat SAI-Academy 5-1. Monu, Salaria Akshit, Sonu, Captain Rahul Yadav, and Sachin scored for North Zone, while Amit Dayal scored for SAI-Academy.

Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey praised the initiative, emphasizing the importance of grassroots development and match exposure. Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh highlighted the opportunity for players’ development and talent discovery through these championships.
