Wayanad Landslides: 11 Lives Lost, Army and Rescue Teams in Action
In Wayanad, Kerala, landslides have tragically claimed 11 lives. The Army has deployed 225 personnel to assist in rescue operations. The Kerala State Administration has established a special control room to manage the situation.
Rescue Operations
The Army received a request for aid on Tuesday morning and mobilized four columns, including medical personnel. Hundreds of people are suspected to be trapped. The Kerala State Administration has also requisitioned rescue columns from the 122 Infantry Battalion (TA) MADRAS.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. He assured Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of all possible help from the Centre. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also expressed his concern and coordinated with local authorities.
