Maharashtra Assembly Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar

Mumbai, Maharashtra

Vijay Wadettiwar, the Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly, has responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments on the Congress party. He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on issues like inflation, Minimum Support Price (MSP), and the Ladli Behna Yojana in Madhya Pradesh.

Wadettiwar’s Criticism

Wadettiwar stated that the public is aware of who makes false promises, asserting that Congress speaks the truth, as seen in Telangana. He highlighted the BJP’s failure to control inflation and fulfill promises related to MSP and the Ladli Behna Yojana, where women have not received payments for three months.

Inflation and Farmers

He accused the BJP of “cheating with farmers” by increasing fertilizer prices and reducing the quantity per bag. Wadettiwar claimed that these actions show the BJP’s fear in Maharashtra.

PM Modi’s Accusations

PM Modi had accused Congress of making empty promises during election campaigns, citing issues in Congress-ruled states like Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana. He urged the public to be cautious of Congress’s “fake promises” and pointed to Haryana’s election results as evidence of Congress’s rejection.

Upcoming Elections

Maharashtra elections are scheduled for November 20, with vote counting on November 23.
