Vijay Rupani Confirms Sunil Jakhar’s Leadership for Punjab Elections

Vijay Rupani, BJP’s Punjab state affairs in-charge and former Gujarat Chief Minister, has put an end to the rumors about Sunil Jakhar’s resignation. Rupani confirmed that Jakhar remains the Punjab BJP chief and will lead the party in the upcoming elections.

Speaking to the media after a meeting in Chandigarh, Rupani said, “The news circulating is nothing but a rumour. Sunil Jakhar went to Delhi for personal reasons, which is why he couldn’t attend today’s meeting. He is our President, and under his leadership we are contesting the upcoming elections in Punjab.”

This statement comes after Jakhar missed a crucial state unit meeting, fueling speculation about his resignation. Rupani clarified that Jakhar’s absence was due to a personal visit to Delhi.

The meeting, which lasted about half an hour, was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP Organisation General Secretary BL Santosh, Delhi BJP State President Virendra Sachdeva, and former Delhi MPs Ramesh Bidhuri and Pravesh Verma.

According to sources, the meeting focused on issues like unauthorized colonies, slums, water problems, and electricity bills in Delhi.
