Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, shared exciting news about the state’s economic progress. He announced that the per capita income has increased 17 times, and the government is working towards doubling the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) in the next five years.

Economic Achievements

Since Uttarakhand became a state in 2000, it has seen remarkable growth. The economy has expanded from Rs 4501 crore to Rs 346000 crore in 2023-24. The tourism sector has been a major contributor, with its share in the GSDP rising from 37% to 43.7%.

Budget Growth

The state’s budget has also seen a significant increase, growing twenty times since 2000. The current budget provision for 2024-25 is over Rs 94 thousand crores, including a general budget of Rs 89230.07 crore and a supplementary budget of Rs 5013.05 crore.

CM Dhami attributes this success to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the determination of the people of Uttarakhand. He expressed confidence in achieving future economic targets with the continued efforts of the government and the people.
